The Museum of Bread, based in Seia - Quinta da Fonte do Marrão, is a private museum that aims to collect, preserve and display the objects and the heritage of Portuguese bread: ethnographic aspects, political, social, historical, artistic and religious.
The space of the Museum resulted from the reconstruction and enlargement of a pre-existing building, and it was used typical materials of the region, such as wood and stone, in order to fully integrate the property in a mountainous landscape.
The result was a museum complex with more than 3,500 m2 of covered area, becoming this Bread Museum one of the greatest, if not the largest, Bread Museum in the world.
